CoogEats

Mobile App Design

An add-on to the UHGO app that expands upon the current Dine on Campus option and gives students more flexibility in where to eat.

I (alongside Josh S., Van T., and Destiny G.) created CoogEats as an add-on for UHGo. Our team, Super DIGM Bros., were one of the six teams chosen from the 56 teams to compete in the hackathon. For the hackathon we were tasked with creating a hypothetical add-on to the UHGO app using the Modo Labs build.

I worked on the list and map page, with help from my teammates, provided feedback, and helped develop the mobile app. I was also assigned to be the team leader. Regarding the map, the icons are color coded based on traffic, and if implemented would be varied based on feedback and data. The hackathon took place over three days, with day 3 being the day we put in the most work. We did run into some issues and time constraints while developing the app. For example, there were issues with implementing the UH branding theme into the app, and after some time, we opted to just stick with the blue theme. I also only had time to label restaurants on and around campus.

Despite these issues though, I am proud of the results from the app, and although we did not win, I had a lot of fun working on the app.
